Around 2018 Anne and Aaron Weaver came up with an idea to create home-made posters that give short informaion on local historical topics. With the permission of Jonathan Lane, the Historical Society placed these posters in the hallway of the Lane Emporium for the public to enjoy and learn about local history. The Lane Emporium is located at the Four Corners of Speculator where Route 30, Route 8 and Elm Lake Road meet. Inside the Lane Emporium is the Chamber of Commerce, a Donut Shop, Mahalo Shave Ice Shack, Health-Human-Service and a bathroom.
We also have posters in the Lake Pleasant Public Library located in Speculator in Route 30. The library also has a history display case. The Library also has a large collection of Adirondack books.
The Lane Emporium is open all year, so stop by and learn some fun facts of our local history.
