I’m delighted to see this wonderful web page for the Historical Society of Lake Pleasant and Speculator. I look forward to visiting often and seeing future posts.
Looking for any information about a Camp Kun-ja-muk on Lake Pleasant around 1917?
This is a great website. Just by chance my daughter Holly Marchand was looking at this site and noticed in picture # 8 of the old photos that on the Ostrander & Call’s Automobile Stage that the third man on the outside with his foot on the running board, white sleeves, bow tie and straw hat appears to be David B. Williams of Hope who was by grandfather. William L. Ostrander, my great great grandfather lived with David B. Williams according to the 1900 census for Hope. If you have any info on this picture, please let me know. Thank you, Fred Baxter
Great site! Brings back memories of my summers at the lake from around 1950 until early 70’s.
I remember pumping gas for Charlie Downey, hanging out with Charley Smith at Melody Lodge and roller skating at the Fish and Game club.
Your Lake Pleasant/Spedulator book is also great..thanks.
To Anne Weaver:
At our last historical meeting in Rensselaer Falls you mentioned something about ” historical markers”. Can you let me know who to contact regarding them? My email is jsander4@twcny.rr.com
Thank you!
I really enjoyed your website.
I sent the information on how to get a historical marker, to my dad, and he should hand them to you.
